Nopales are cactus pads. We are very attached to them because they are part of our lives (the nopal is an element featured on Mexico’s national flag). It is used in many recipes and cooked in various ways. It can be consumed grilled, with eggs, in salads, as a side dish for meat or fish, and, of course, in tacos!

The nopal is a food rich in vitamins, minerals, and fiber. It is called a “superfood” because it has many nutritional properties.
