ABUELITA CHOCOLATE 540 GR
The fruit of the cocoa tree is the basis for making chocolate, and its origins are found in Mexico, in the state of Tabasco. Cocoa is one of the ingredients that Mexico has given to the world. The first civilization to domesticate and consume it was the Olmec civilization, followed by the Mayan and Aztec civilizations. Cocoa was very important in pre-Hispanic times, as it was used to make drinks (unsweetened) that were consumed during rituals and special festivities. The beans were also used as currency.
When the Spanish arrived in America, they tasted cocoa for the first time. They began to import the beans to Europe and had the idea of mixing cocoa paste with milk and sugar. This is how chocolate as we know it today was born.
Chocolate Abuelita is a product deeply rooted in the family life of Mexicans. Drinking hot chocolate as a family is always a moment of sharing and it is consumed on all occasions: for birthdays, for Christmas or DÃa de Muertos (Day of the Dead), at Epiphany or Candlemas.
To prepare it, simply dissolve it in very hot milk, but some also use it for baking, while others don't hesitate to bite into it!
